so i did my first trip out for atuk on saturday in north wales. The day started off very welsh….wet, suppose to have the lush countryside we have takes a fair bit of rain but in morrisons carpark the rain wasnt dampening our spirits.
After the pre event talk we set off for our first lane the fantastic bryn ocyn hidgway with wind screen wipers going and our gate attendants regretting their choice slightly, a good lane to get things going, thankfully the rain started to ease a little then a bit of twisty welsh tarmac through pentrellyncymer on to our next lane just south of the alwen resevoir.
our plan was to have lunch at lost lake but as it was a bit windy we we decided to lunch lower down in pentrefoelas car park before lost lake. suitably refreshed we made our way up lost lake and after a little walk the decision was made by some to drive to the very end whilst we took the leather express to the house at the end of the lane,
after another brew we set off on the second half of the lanes when things changed and we got to sample some of what wales is famous for, hilly rocky lanes. a good day was had by all, yes we did have a couple of turn arounds but they were as practice for where we would have to a left when we wanted to turn right later in the day (well most of us did) lol.
